Call for Nominations
Forest City Gallery is looking for visual artists and arts enthusiasts from the community to join our Board of Directors and/or join our Committees. Artist-Run Centres are volunteer driven galleries, and working on FCG's Board of Directors is an valuable, impactful way to contribute to your local arts community. FCG is also seeking new members to join the following committees: Hear Here Committee, Equity Committee, Residency Committee. More information on these committee openings will be available at the Annual General Meeting on September 16th, from 1 -2 PM.
Backgrounds and Areas of Expertise for Directors:
The Board is strongest and most effective when the following core competencies are represented, with each director contributing knowledge, experience, and skills in at least one or two domains:
Practicing artist;
Arts administration/ arts education;
Financial/ fund development/ fundraising;
Strategic Planning;
Executive experience/ leadership;
Communications;
Community profile;
Human resources.
It is understood that emphasis should be on recruitment of Directors who bring more than credentials or designations by contributing to a culture characterized by integrity, diligence, and active participation.
Ideal Directors Would Possess the Following Qualities:
When nominated, Directors must be members in good standing of Forest City Gallery;
Directors must agree to support the vision, mission and values of Forest City Gallery, its role in both the London arts;
Community and the larger community of artist-run-centres in Canada;
Directors must be committed to the achievement of artistic autonomy, support CARFAC guidelines and be committed to our membership and granting bodies. Directors should also be knowledgeable about issues involving local artists;
Commitment to the visual arts.

We are looking for members of the London Visual Arts community to serve a two-year term from September 2017 to September 2019. Nominees must be members of the Forest City Gallery and members are welcome to nominate themselves. Have your nomination forms in no later than August 15, 2017 at 5 PM. The Nominating Committee will present the slate of nominees at the Annual General Meeting on September 16th 2017, at the Forest City Gallery.
