Job Title: Contract Fundraiser
Type of Position: Part-Time (4 to 8 hours per week), Temporary, Contract
Forest City Gallery is London’s very own Artist-Run Centre. Founded on artistic autonomy, FCG is committed to excellence in programming, exhibitions and events that reflect and address recent developments in cultural production. Our mandate is to serve as a forum for local, regional, national and international artists though the presentation of relevant contemporary practices in visual/media arts, performance, literature and music.
Forest City Gallery is seeking an experienced Fundraiser with a proven track record of creating innovative fundraising plans, as well as a proven ability to meet fundraising targets. The candidate must be proficient in grant writing and have experience with non-profit organizations.This contract position will be 5 months in duration with a base remuneration of $3500 with the possibility of a bonus based on performance.
Responsibilities:
As directed, seek new sources of funding and gift-in-kind through grant proposals.
Maintain all aspects of donor prospecting, solicitation, cultivation and stewardship to attain annual fundraising goals.
Assist in researching organizations including Trusts, Companies, Foundations and wealthy individuals with an interest in funding arts and culture in London.
Maintain approved grant and sponsorship commitments.
Liaison with Forest City Gallery’s Fundraising Committee and support their activities.
Coordinate and communicate one (1) Fundraising Event that will enlist corporate sponsorship
Assist in training and leading fundraising volunteers and supporters to achieve fundraising goals.
Other tasks related to fundraising as requested by the Board.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in fundraising with Not-for-profit and Charity experience preferred
Demonstrated experience in organizing special events
Demonstrated experience in writing successful proposals to funding bodies
Demonstrated experience working directly with donors, volunteers, and Boards
Demonstrated track record of soliciting and closing gifts is essential
