FCG is proud to publish "Sweetness Through Water: A melancholic yet buoyant reclamation," an exhibition text by Sandi Rankaduwa to accompany You Can't Have Honey Without An Onion by Rima Sater and Laura Acosta.



Sandi Rankaduwa is a Sri Lankan-Canadian writer, filmmaker, and sometimes performer. Her cultural criticism has appeared in The Believer, Vulture, Rolling Stone, and BuzzFeed News. Her most recent film — a short documentary called Ice Breakers — was produced by the National Film Board and named a Vimeo Staff Pick. An erstwhile comedian, Sandi has also worked for 22 Minutes, performed stand-up at various festivals in the US and Canada, and trained in improv at the iO, Annoyance Theatre, and Second City.
